ENERGY – COST OF LIVING

Cost of living is a challenge for some families and the government is working hard to find ways to help people to keep more money in their pockets, ensuring the economy works for everyone.

Families can now have confidence that when energy costs fall, their energy bills will too.

The independent energy regulator Ofgem has set out details of our energy price cap, which for the first time will protect all households from unfair price rises from the end of this year.

Ofgem says our measures will mean 11 million households on poor value default deals will save up to £138, with a typical consumer on the most expensive tariff saving over £120. Consumers should save £1 billion in total.
