Kimmins Mill in Stroud is packed full of information & local archives. This picture is a snapshot of just some of the books there.
A community team of volunteers have been asked by Sainsburys to move five floors of their archives. Sainsbury’s own the building as their peppercorn rent is being brought to an end. I’ve been working with the team to try to get time to move the collections. I understand that the group sent my letter to the lawyers to local media and I have also contacted senior members of the company. We understand that a short extension has been granted as a result but not until Easter as is needed. This is a shame and we will keep trying. If anybody knows anybody who has space to store archives or senior members of Sainsburys, please let me know.
