The Cadbury hall in Frampton was coming alive with treasure hunters on Saturday 13th April 2019. The charity, Youth@Heart had set up the event to fundraise for the next phase of their work to fund a Cardiac Youth Worker, to undertake a liaison role between the young person, medical professionals and community provision.
I had the privilege to talk to Lucinda who set up the charity in honour of a very special young woman named, Alice. Youth@Heart aims to offer support, awareness and opportunity to teenagers, young adults (16 to 24) and their families, born with complex Congenital heart disease. They also aim to raise public understanding of complex CHD and its impact on the young person and its family.
They are based in Saul and focused on the whole county of Gloucestershire. For more information and events that you can attend to support their work, see: https://www.youthatheart.co.uk
